Total and differential Higgs cross sections at 8 TeV with ATLAS (ATLAS_2015_I1364361)

Spires | arXiv:1504.05833

WARNING --- this analysis requires stable higgs bosons --- Measurements of the total and differential cross sections of Higgs boson production are performed using 20.3 fb−1 of pp collisions produced by the Large Hadron Collider at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV and recorded by the ATLAS detector. Cross sections are obtained from measured Higgs to diphoton and ZZ* event yields, which are combined accounting for detector efficiencies, fiducial acceptances and branching fractions. Differential cross sections are reported as a function of Higgs boson transverse momentum, Higgs boson rapidity, number of jets in the event, and transverse momentum of the leading jet. The total production cross section is determined to be 33.0 ± 5.3 (stat) ± 1.6 (sys) pb.

Higgs diphoton events at 8 TeV in ATLAS (ATLAS_2014_I1306615)

Spires | arXiv:1407.4222 | JHEP 09 (2014) 112

Measurements of fiducial and differential cross sections are presented for Higgs boson production in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 8TeV. The analysis is performed in the Higgs diphoton decay channel using 20.3/fb of data recorded by the ATLAS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. The signal yields are corrected for the effects of detector inefficiency and resolution. Differential cross sections are also presented, as a function of variables related to the diphoton kinematics and the jet activity produced in the Higgs boson events. The observed spectra are statistically limited but broadly in line with the theoretical expectations.
